Applications for Heat Exchanger Rating Calculator
Heat Exchanger Rating Calculator does the Rating calculation for Shell and Tube Heat exchanger using Taborek version of Bell-Delaware Method. It evaluates the thermo-hydraulic performance of a fully specified exchanger.
It allows user to choose from following different modes of rating calculation.
- All Variables Known - In this mode all 6 variables namely Wt,Ws,t1,t2,T1,T2 are known and the application calculates the area required for this duty. Then it compares with Area Available in exchanger and reports Overdesign %.

- t1 & T2 Unknown - (Tube Inlet and Shell Outlet Temperature Unknown)
- t1 & Ws Unknown - (Tube Inlet Temperature and Shell Mass flowrate Unknown)
- t2 & T1 Unknown - (Tube Outlet and Shell Inlet Temperature Unknown)
- t2 & T2 Unknown - (Tube Outlet and Shell Outlet Temperature Unknown)
- t2 & Ws Unknown - (Tube Outlet Temperature and Shell Mass flowrate Unknown)
- Wt & T1 Unknown - (Tube Mass flowrate and Shell Inlet Temperature Unknown)
- Wt & T2 Unknown - (Tube Mass flowrate and Shell Outlet Temperature Unknown)
