Applications for Vertical Thermosyphon Reboiler Calculator
Vertical Thermosyphon Reboiler Calculator does the Simulation and Rating calculation using Chen's method based on correlation of Forster and Zuber. It balances the pressure drop in supply leg and return leg from reboiler to calculate the possible circulation rate along with the fraction of liquid vaporized. It also calculates the intial Sensible heating zone that will be used to heat up the liquid till bubble point.
It allows user to choose from following calculations.
- Find Circulation Rate - In this mode calculator finds the desired liquid circulation rate through reboiler at which Inlet leg pressure drop will be equal to Return leg pressure drop.
- Rating for Given Circulation Rate - In this mode calculator checks for given circulation rate whether thermosyphoning will take place or not.
For calculation of circulation rate user can provide his initial trial value and if no value is provided calculator will start with its own trial value. This calculator provides a handy tool for plant engineers who want to quickly evaluate the performance of their vertical thermosyphon reboilers.
